Week of Prayer for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions
"Here I am. Send me."
(Isaiah 6:8) Isaiah's heart cry transcends time and place to resonate in the lives of thousands of Southern Baptist missionaries today. From the eco-conscious homes of Portland to the high-powered boardrooms of New York, to the bead-strewn streets of new Orleans, the North American Mission Board (NAMB) is partnering with churches to send out missionaries to 32 SEND cities. They share the love, hope, joy and peace that can only be found through a saving relationship with Jesus Christ with the lost and hurting of the US and Canada. The "here" may be different for each, but the heart and message is still the same. Tabernacle's prayer and financial support is vital to the ministry of these servants of the Lord. The church offering goal is $3,000.

Newport News' One City Marathon
On Sunday, Mar 4 the One City Marathon course goes right by the church on Lucas Creek Road and the church traditionally mans the water station out front at Mile Marker 10. Get up early and come cheer on the runners and work at the water station! Because of traffic blockades in Denbigh during the run, there is no morning worship or Sunday School on this day. Worship will take place at 4 pm, followed by a covered dish meal in Fuller Hall. Bring two big side dishes to share- the church will provide the meat, bread and drinks.

One Week Bible Challenge
In the first of four Bible challenges this year, the church family is challenged to read the Book of Ecclesiastes every day for a week, Mar 15-21, then come on Wed, Mar 21 at 6:15 pm to discuss it.
